Review; Juju bar by Drunken Elephant

When it comes to skin care I really try and find pieces that don't have too much hype. Although on a rare occasion I get caught in it, I do my best! So when I was shopping on Sephora I saw this product and I had never heard about it, but it looked and sounded super interesting. It claims to be a "three-in-one bar that deeply cleanses, subtly exfoliates and heals skin". And that sounds like a perfect product for me.

In the past few weeks I have found my skin to be lacklustre and a bit prone to break outs. And with it being spring and summer right around the corner I prefer to wear a lot less makeup, when I do wear it. So I like my skin to be on its A game.

This is the bar, let's just take a second to appreciate its beautiful packaging... Okay, back to the post!

I was so excited I could not wait to use it the night I had received it in the mail, so this is the bar after almost a week of use. To use this you simply wet your hands, rub the Juju bar between your hands and then massage the milky lather into your skin. You will be ultra surprised at how luxurious it feels! There are tiny little bits in there that exfoliate your skin and they feel amazing. It's perfect for everyday use. (I have been using it two times a day)

The results; my skin feels incredible. I have a glow back in my skin and I've noticed that on my nose where my skin was feeling a bit congested is clearing up dramatically. I have also noticed that my pores feel tighter and that my products are sinking into my skin instead of sitting on top of it. I love this product!

Has anyone else tried this product? Let me know what you think or if you have any recommendations!

Wen Cleansing Conditioner| Review

Hi Everyone! So if you have been following me since the beginning you would have seen my hair ombre, curly, straight, ombre again and then straight and dyed back to a natural dark brow/black. So taking all that in, my hair is pretty dry. Curly hair is naturally really dry, but when you add heat damage to that, it only makes it worse, as well as bleach. See where I'm going here? It's just not good.

I have tried a lot of products, and have been interested in Wen for a long time. I have seen in infomercials, which I am sure everyone has. But I hate how gimmicky it seemed. After a lot of fussing I was in a Sephora and spotted it! They had the whole kit, but I was really just interested in the cleansing condition. It was sulphate free and in turn a lot less drying then other shampoo, conditioner combo's that I was using.

I purchased the cleansing conditioner when I had my curly hair and it was amazing, I used it to wash and as a leave in. I loved it so much, my hair was healthier and soft as well as the smell of the product is amazing. I found it super easy to use for my curls. Then when I started to wear my hair straight, I did not feel the need to use it any more (I had finished my first bottle in 2 months). My hair was dry and breaking, just like it was before I started using it. I went out and bought a second bottle and noticed a difference with my first use. It really is an amazing product, it is super hydrating and conditioning, as well as I have found that it keeps the colour in my hair like it claims to do. With the almost 40$ price tag, I think it is really worth it if you need the regular moisture to your hair. As well is saves you time in the shower and money from buying other products. This is a must for me!

What are your thoughts on the Wen Cleansing Conditioner?

Berry Cheek | Outofashion

Due to my skins dehydration and everyones skin getting dull during the winter/end of winter months (I live in Canada and it is still pretty chilly these days *Sigh*) I just find I need to add some type of colour back into my face. I am not one for eye shadow, I focus on my lashes. So adding in colour is done through my cheeks or my lips. In the rare occasion I am not wearing a red, dark red or plum tone lip colour I like to add a pop of colour on my cheek.

I wanted to try something different- a plum/ berry toned cheek. I searched around Sephora which is my go-to beauty store. I didn't find anything I loved. I decided to check out MAC, which is usually my last resort.Don't get me wrong, they have good products, I just never have any luck with them and the girls that work at my location come on super strong and I always feel uncomfortable. But anyways, I found this beautiful matte berry colour called Stubborn.

This is a prolong wear blush with a beautiful plumy-berry colour. I was actually terrified when I got home (Again, the girls at my MAC aren't super nice, so I usually just grab something and go!) It is a very pigmented bold colour that if not blended will leave brush lines!

After much fussing around with brushes, I fell in love with the colour! It adds a warm plum flush that just makes my sad dehydrated skin look happy!!! I thought it was so unique and fun. This look is super wearable, But the blush can be added with a heavier hand and be more bold as well!

What do you guys think? Would you wear this look!

Skincare essentials

I've been through some very rough times with my skin since I was young. I have always had very acne prone skin, that I never knew how to take care of. I have always looked at the drugstore for my skincare but never had the best results. I have now came across the problem; my skin is dehydrated. Its weird to think that my skin couldn't have enough moisture or "water" in it, being that my skin is oily as well. I have tried so many product since learning this. I have discovered through testing and testing, the products that work for me.

Origins Make a Difference Plus + Rejuvenating Moisturizer - This moisturizer is the bomb diggity!! I love it. It claims that it is "an invigorated moisturizer to help repair dry and dehydrated skin". That is exactly what it does. I use this at night after I cleanse and then again in the morning. My skin feels happy and moisturized. The product is a perfect consistency, its not as heavy as a thick white cream, but its not too wet and thin either. It has a very herbal smell which is not too strong. I highly recommend this to anyone with dehydrated skin.

Hourglass N° 28 Primer Serum- I originally bought this because I thought it was the primer that everyone was raving about. But it is not, I purchased this before the moisturizer and I was using it under my make up as a primer. I made my skin silky and smooth, It is an oily serum texture. I wasn't in love with it. Then I started using my Origins moisturizer and then I loved it. I now use it at night after I moisturize (I just prefer it overtop) and then in the morning the same way. It does help my foundation last, but I think it is because it is treating my skin. It has 14 essential oils including lavender, vanilla, orange peel plus so much more it also has vitamins. I just love how healthy my skin feels after using this.

Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm- I first got interested in this because of Barbra from ThePersianBabe  she mentioned it in a video, so I had to go get it. Everything she uses on her skin works on mine, so it seemed right to go grab it. It is a hard oil/ balm product that is used to take off your make up and cleanse your skin. It is absolutely amazing. You take a small amount of the product into your hands and melt it then rub it into your skin to remove all your make up. I think wet my hands with warm water and rub it into my skin. The product becomes milky and I continue to remove it until it is all gone. I then use a cleanser after to remove any access product (Which there never is, I'm just being safe) I only have 2 or 3 uses of this product left and I am going to repurchase another one very soon.

Hope you guys can take away some products from that! Let me know how it goes and if you have any skin care essentials that I should check out!

Update!

Hi guys! So I thought I would give a quick update as to what I have been up to, and why I have had a lack of post lately!

I made a youtube channel ; I am putting time into that and most ideas I have, I am putting into videos instead of blog posts! But I will be trying to juggle both better in the next couple weeks!
(My channel is Outofashionn)

I started working my other job as well ; So now I am working 6 days a week! Which is tiring!!! I find it hard to feel inspired when I am so so tired! Its also hard to make time for a video/post when I work all the time! But I am doing my best!

My hair change! ; So I have started wearing my hair curly! I am so not use to this. So I feel a bit self conscious and awkward. As well, I have not figured out how to make it "Work" on camera. I am pushing myself because I really love the look of big, curly, full hair! (I think this is the major reason for the lack of posts!)

So with all that being said!! I did post a haul on my youtube channel earlier today! So check it out and let me know what you think!!

Here are a couple pictures of my natural hair! I have an appointment downtown at The Curl Ambassadors on Friday! So I'm sure my curls will be a lot happier after that as well!

Okay! So that is it for today's post! Enjoy the rest of your week and I will see you soon!!

Midi & Denim

I hav wanted this dress for ages! On my day off I went to Eaton's Center (For anyone who doesn't live in toronto/canada it is a huge mall and a landmark downtown Toronto!) I was looking to get this jacket that I have had my eye on for a while (Check it out here). But while searching through the Aritzia Pop us shop, I stumbled across this beauty!! I have wanted this dress since I saw it online forever ago... So I got it.

I wore it pretty simple today, But it is an amazing piece that I know I can do a lot with. What do you guys think? (also typing this I can see the picture of my shoes, my bum is NOT that big, fyi)

Hope you guys are having a great week!

Skincare Review: Clinique Moisture Surge & Caudalie Beauty Elixir

Hi Guys, Just thought I would do a quick review on some skincare products I picked up a few months back! You know those products that are so talked about, that it just makes you not want to get them? That is how I felt about both of these products. I have heard so much hype and rave about these two products that I really held off on getting them. Now let me give you a quick run down.

Caudalie Beauty Elixir is a part toner, and mist of essential oils. It is suppose to create a glowing complexion, tighten pores and give an overall radiance to the skin. I enjoyed this product. I do find my skin a lot more healthy feeling. I believe all of the oils and flower extracts really made a difference on my skin. Its a handy little product to take with you on the go for a quick makeup fix. It has defiantly became a go to product for me in this crazy Canadian winter.

Clinique moisture serge intense skin fortifying hydrator is a gel/cream that is meant to hydrate for 24 hours and repair skins natural moisture barrier. I personally found this moisturiser very heavy!!! I have normal-dry skin and this was just too much! I was using it twice a day, morning and night but it was making my skin very oily. I did stop using the product for a week or two, but realised it was almost 40$ and I was not going to waste that money. In turn it became my night time cream. It made my skin feel healthier, but it was also very heavy. I would not repurchase this product, unfortunately.

What is a good daily moisturiser you use? I would love some suggestions!!

Like a boy.

Sometimes, I just dont want to dress pretty and sweet. I just want to dress like a boy! Because I work very often, I dont get to dress down as much as I want to. But I was feeling a little lazy so I put together this outfit. I think I looked just like a boy, but i had fun with it.

I decided to wear my basic blue 7 for all mankind jeans with my new La Notte tee and tied my vintage flannel around my waist for an 80's/90's feel. The backward cap was just the icing on the cake. I though this outfit was a little different for me, but it was easy and playful.

What do you guys think of this look? I'm personally still on the fence about it.

How I Style ; Fitted Maxi Dress

Hi guys, because I do mostly OOTD's I figured I would change it up a bit! This post will be how I style a fitted maxi dress. I used one dress throughout the whole post. It is a black maxi dress from American Apparel ( This one here! ) It was 44$ which is not too bad for a good quality black maxi! I figure in a couple of seasons when I get tired of the length, I can always cut and hem it!

Okay! So onto the outfits! I tried to do very different looks for each, So here it is! :)

Black On Black; Simple long layers, bold lips and jewelry

Here I simply layered a long cardigan over the dress. I love the simplicity and class that this outfit has. I paired it with a thick gold chain necklace and black chelsea boots.

Winter Boho; Neutrals paired with floral for a summer feel.

This is my favorite outfit. This taupe sweater is my go to for everything. I love the length with this dress, its an effortless look. The vintage floral head wrap is a nice touch to give a bohemian feel.

Girly Grunge; Boy-ish feel to a very feminine and sexy dress.

I really love how grungy this outfit turned out. I think its my comfort zone. I love to add layers and more edgy pieces because I dont like fitted dresses that show off my body too much. The layers in this outfit is perfect for that. Plus, my denim vest is one of my essentials.

Amish paradise(lol);  flowy and easy to wear, topped with a thick scarf and floppy hat

For some reason there is only one picture of this outfit! What happened camera?!?!?! But I never wear this silk button up. But I love it in this outfit. Its flowy and a warm tone so its perfect for this time of the year or even fall. As well, this hat is a go to piece. I love how much it adds to the simplest of outfits!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post! I had a lot of fun putting it together!
And I will be starting up a YouTube channel!!!! Very excited for that! I will keep you posted! :)

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Review ; UNIF Hellraisers

So after waiting FOREVER and EVER my lovely boyfriend treated me to UNIF hellraisers for our anniversary back in the summer. I've had these for well over 7 months, but I think that because of the style/ price of these shoes I could only give my opinion after really using them for a while.

I'll start off by saying I have GIANT feet. And a lot of brands do not cary my size. I am a 11 women (I believe that is a 41 or 42 in UK sizes) So when we were at the store, they did not have my size, lucky me. In turn I got a 9 in mens. I was a bit bummed out because the mens shoes are obviously wider, and I'm already super self conscious about my feet! (Silly, I know) But aside from all of that nonsense, I wore the shoes all summer. I find it hard to wear them now because of the awful weather that we are having in Canada. But I can not wait till I am able to wear these again. I always got compliments on them, people loved them.

I have heard a lot of people losing spikes easily, my boyfriend in fact lost about 3 or 4. I did not have this problem. I did lose 1 spike, but I mucked up my foot getting out of my friends car. Therefor I blame it on myself. The shoes are a tad bit heavy(Could be due to my large feet), and I have occasionally hit my leg with my shoe, and it does suck. But over all, they are a really cool piece to have.  A very unique shoes and make a medioker outfit, fun!

I would recommend getting them! I love mine, and I still try and wear them even though the weather here is awful. I am looking into getting some cool socks to pair with them, so maybe I can wear them with a dress to work.

What is your opinion of the UNIF hellraisers? Do you think they are too talked about? Or do you think they live up to the hype?

Snow day face

Hey guys! Wow, has it ever been a while. I actually terribly miss writing on here and having a place to actually log my outfits, makeup and style ideas. I have basically used my Instagram (Outofashion, if you want to follow me there too) as my make shift blog. It is just easier. But, back to business! Last night in Toronto it snowed, and snowed, and snowed. Today I walked outside and the snow was almost up to my knees.

I got ready for work, regardless of the awful snow, the fact that I would be taking transit, and the fact that I was actually feeling sick. Walking to my bus stop my manager calls me and tells me to go back home. Because of the snow storm, no one wanted to leave their house. But, I had already gotten ready, So I browsed around the near by mall.... Point of this post... Here is the simple makeup look I put together. (My first Face Of The Day!)

Nars Sheer glow/Mac Russian Red/ Mac Select cover up/ Mac Warm Soul/
Mac Cream coloured base in PearlGosh Brow gel/
Essence Brow pencil in 02 brown/ Maybelline Great lash -Lots of lashes

Sorry for the crappy quality photo! I'm getting use to my new camera!

Fall OOTD ; Burgundy & Military

Oh, how I have missed sitting infront of my Macbook and talking about fashion. The last couple of weeks have been hectic to say the very least. It's all starting to slow down, which makes me overjoyed. I have decided that I really want to spend more time on my blog. I plan to update at least once a week.
I am starting training at a new job where I can actually dress fashionably ( I could not be more excited!)  So there shall be a lot more interesting fashion post going on here! Also found my camera, So I will be asking the boyfriend to escort me and take pictures!

All rambling aside... Heres a casual but trendy outfit I put together! I find that coloured pants are a staple for me. They are easy to style, but they look so great!

Tribal/Vintage looking sweater ; H&M/ Burgundy coated jeans ; H&M/ Tank top; Aritzia/ Military jacket ; Aritzia

Hope you are enjoying the fall/ winter weather! Its getting pretty chill out now.

Fall is finally here...

The crispness of the air is finally back, the beautiful coloured leaves are falling from the trees and it's finally time to layer. I absolutely love fall. It is the most beautiful season, everything seems a lot better. From food to fashion.

I can finally lay in bed with a cold nose and warm feet. Also my birthday is in October so I get excited about that as well. I love layering my basic spring/summer pieces with thick fun sweaters and chunky scarves. I also adore Starbucks drinks in the fall. It's such a treat to have a tasty salted caramel mocha (My favorite) to warm your tummy as you're walking down the street.

So this post has very little rhyme or reason, Just a simple Happy fall.

Here is a warm and wonderful outfit. Might do a post on it.
Pastel green in fall. Love it.

Maxi in the fall

Hi all! It's been a while since I have had a chance to update my page, but I'm so glad I'm taking the time to do so! I have been so busy with work and my new internship, plus my birthday was Monday!!

Anyways heres the outfit I wore out to run errands today before I had to throw on dress pants for my oh so glorious job.

I am totally in love with burgundy this fall. It's such a warm and "fall" color. Most of my new fall pieces are in burgundy! This sweater and rings are from H&M, skirt is from Urban planet, boots from Little Burgundy's and I got this watch at Value Village... It also doesn't work, but I adore it. Also, it was $2, so I can't go wrong.

How is your fall going so far? I feel like it's almost half way done! I don't want winter to come yet!
